Medication Management

Psychiatric Medication Management for Adults in California

Schedule Consultation

Medication management at Mostly Human Psychiatry begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and works alongside, not in place of, supplements and lifestyle changes. Medication is used only when necessary, mainly for stabilization, and supportive therapy is included in every follow-up as part of our integrative approach. Care is by telehealth for adults in five states.

Medication That Works Alongside the Rest of Your Care

Medication management begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and is designed to work alongside, not replace, supplements and lifestyle changes. For patients with more severe symptoms, medication is an evidence-based and effective tool. We use it only when necessary, primarily to provide stabilization and to help patients get to a place where they can fully engage in therapy.

It Starts With Getting to Know You

Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We'll talk through your history, what you're experiencing now, what you've already tried, and what you want from care. That conversation shapes everything that follows, including whether medication makes sense for you at all or whether an integrative plan is a better place to start.

Stabilization, So You Can Do the Deeper Work

For many of my patients, medication isn't the end goal. It's a way to feel steady enough to sleep, think clearly, and fully engage in therapy and the lifestyle changes that support lasting progress. When I recommend a medication, I'll explain why, what it's meant to do, and what to watch for, so every decision about your medication management is one we make together.

Supportive Therapy in Every Follow-Up

Supportive therapy is included in every medication management follow-up appointment. While we don't offer psychotherapy-only services, I believe working with a professionally trained psychologist is extremely valuable. I'm happy to refer you to well-regarded local psychologists who specialize in what fits your needs best, such as IFS, EMDR, or DBT. You can see everything we offer on our services page.

Conditions I Treat

Medication management supports adults with anxiety (including high-functioning anxiety and OCD), depression, bipolar disorder (including second opinions), complex PTSD and trauma, eating disorders, insomnia, and schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Your plan is shaped by your history and goals.

When You're Ready to Reduce or Stop

If you're doing well, or a medication no longer feels right, we can move into a hyperbolic medication taper with the same provider who already knows your story.
